The Temptations, hmmm, there was Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks
Paul Williams
Elbridge “Al” Bryant
David Ruffin
Dennis Edwards.....
That’s Just Your Imagination.......................
Just beautiful.
I saw them in concert when Eddied Kendricks was still alive.............
Just great.
A uniquely wonderful group.
Apostles: Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, Thomas, Judas (the traitor), Simon the Zealot, Matthew (the tax collector), James (the other one), Phillip ... And then there was Matthias, chosen by the Eleven to replace Judas the traitor ... and Paul, formerly Saul, who got knocked off his horse and onto his “donkey”, and “saw the light”.
So I’m missing two ... bummer.
Temptations:
He was tempted to turn stones into bread (Man shall not live by bread alone), to take a flying leap off the Temple (do not put The Lord your God to the test), and to subject himself to the devil in exchange for earthly power (you shall worship only the Lord your God, Him alone shall you adore).
Nathanael and Thaddeus have awarded you a solid “A”. Well done!
You forgot one. Hebrews 3:1. ;)
Thank you, Dan, for these remarkable paintings and illustrations. I don’t have a favorite.
Had completely forgotten about it, as you say--although adding Him as a 15th in such a quiz would have seemed unfair even if I had remembered. Still, you would have gotten it!
Alba, I'll try to do better next time.
Ahah! I don’t have a favorite because they are all good.
That’s the Spirit!
Jesus is the very definition of an Apostle, "someone sent". No one else could be sent as He was.
But, of course, He is so much more. Calling Him "apostle" is akin to calling Babe Ruth an outfielder, Michael Jordan a shooting guard, Billy Graham a motivational speaker...
Of course, you are right. I just was being a smart-aleck. Thanks for your great posts.
And my thanks to you for heeding the Spirit’s prompting and making your important and valuable addition. You blessed me.
